Energy Transition – a deep learning network challenge
the movement
Energy Transition is a movement toward cleaner energy
supply, demand and uses in the form of solar, wind, hydro and geothermal as
against the use of fossil fuel. The focus is to have net-zero carbon emission by the year 2050. This is to limit the negative impacts of climate related
changes. Such impacts include but not limited to food scarcity as well as the
current but challenging weather conditions like widespread wild fires, droughts
and floods. It has, however, been established that decarbonization is just an aspect of the transition.
The progress and requirements
As it stands today and for the sake of the total health of mother earth, energy transition is a must, although it is unclear whether the Paris' Agreement is achievable based on today’s indices. Progress has been made but a lot still has to be done. The transition will gain momentum on the development and application of relevant policies, interplay of market indices and deployment of affordable smart technologies. Meanwhile, a combination of scenarios has been suggested, nevertheless, there is no single-sided solution. The solution has to be multifaceted requiring several levels of global stakeholders working together.

Thus far, an ntegrated stakeholders’ opinion suggests that the transition should be inclusive, just, sustainable, reliable and affordable. It is important that the transition advances and influences sustainable steps through access to secure energy. This is especially so, when the transition is viewed with the developing countries in mind. They are still struggling to access basic energy. Yet they must not allow themselves to be left behind. They have to be fully part of the transition by coming up with unique solutions tailored to their needs and global aspirations!

indications, therefore, the energy transition of our dream would require a deep learning network approach. This
means that our mindset about energy must evolve intelligently
and innovatively.
